  1. I had this theme with OCD around four years ago. I also had the gronial response thing, dreams, images, guilt and revulsion in my head the whole works. It got to the point where i thought i had feelings for almost every man i saw. However in the end even though my mind was full of OCD thoughts i could see that there is no way, gay or straight you can fancy every single person you come into contact with. I had CBT sessions along with fluoxetine, and in the end i got better. You will as well.
  2. Just an update. Stopped the ruminating and that alone has made me feel much better. Think the fluoxetine may well be kicking in too.(working my way up to 60 at the mo) I still notice my breathing, but its not causing me to go into a full on panic anymore. Is this a sign i am going in the right direction?
  3. Thanks for the info photog, Been looking back at it in my mind, and i think this fear came from thinking i would or could stop my own breathing. Im sure this is what the trigger was. Would indeed fit right in with how OCD works (will it happen, could it, what if etc) I have an appointment Monday with a CBT therapist so fingers crossed i can get this sorted out asap.
  4. Hi all, New member here, but long time sufferer. I have had my OCD under control for around the last 4 years. However about 3 weeks ago i became obsessed/aware of my breathing, and now cant stop thinking about it 24/7. The fear is that i will never be able to stop thinking about it, and is causing me lots anxiety and even a couple of panic attacks. I have tried to keep myself busy, however this just doesn't work. I cant see how to apply CBT to the problem as breathing is an ongoing body process so i fell stuck/hopeless. If anyone has advice on how to overcome this i would be very grateful.
