This is your main obsession for decades.  So relapse is OK.  It was triggered in a professional situation and it’s really hard, I’m very sorry.

You know that and you have already done it: try not to do compulsions.  The title of your new thread is good because you are able to think of it as an obsession.

Please tell your psychologist that this is your obsession very long ago and this is one of your priorities in recovery.

In this situation you are in a more sensitive state in connection with your emotional and mental problems. Taking the test was like a very strong exposure in ERP without graduality.  This is wrong, this is not safe because you haven’t practiced yet to stand the fear of that obsession without reacting with OCD.

What to do instead of rumination and other compulsions; or when you have unwanted thoughts (compulsions eg. rumination make OCD worse):

 

Try to calm down by finding an activity what really involves you, and your attention. You can do it with others or alone. Conversation, walking, jogging or other sport, watching TV, reading, cooking, housework etc. Try to find something what you are interested in. 

 

Be there for others. Talk with your family members, neighbours, clients. Ask them about their days, about their needs etc.

 

If you can't stop thinking (sometimes it happens to me), give yourself a topic to think about which is neutral, not fearful, maybe even positive e.g. a book, film, story, how it was exactly in details, or if you don't know the end of it, how it will continue. Or some neutral memories when you were doing something together with others.

 

If the unwanted thoughts are too strong, choose a smaller problem or task to think about, it can help you to distract.
