Guest tigerlady
Something that has helped me suss out OCD lies from real events is this: "False memories start after real ones end, so if you're wondering whether or not something happened, it didn't" Also, the fact that you're so bothered by the possibility is just further proof that it's a lie. Think about it, if it actually had happened, you wouldn't start feeling guilty now, you would of started to right after it happened, or during, even. I know how hard it can be to distinguish, I fought with a nasty one for months, and still struggle, at times. But, these lines of thinking helped me a lot. Hopefully, they can help you too! DownTheRabbitHole
That doesn't help me as I feel guilty as soon as I get the thought which is always straight after the event supposedly happened, also I have no doubting aspect to mine as mine feel 100% true and certain to have happened, no what if's. I don't know what to do Link to comment

DownTheRabbitHole
It's silly because my parents say I can't have done it as they were with me at the time but I still think that somehow it happened, I feel guilty and horrible all the time. Link to comment
alisando123
Bless you. I understand totally. I have these thoughts consistently where I'm convinced something has happened. Do you feel better after time? Link to comment
DownTheRabbitHole
This is the worst one I've had as it's stuck around for a month and progressively got worse, reassurance hasn't worked and I know I made a rod for my own back by ruminating, reassurance seeking etc and that's why it hasn't gone away. I just hate how real it feels, like it definitely happened even though everyone says it can't have. Link to comment
PolarBear
This will start to go away when you stop torturing yourself with it. Link to comment
Guest tigerlady
I'm sorry my advice made you feel worse. That was not my intent, but it happened, and I apologize. I hope things improve for you, soon. Link to comment
