Displaced paranoia?

My brother said he found a lump on the side of his stomach area this morning. He said it was about the size of a gulf ball,hard and painless and was on the other side but not as prominent. The thing is I poked, prodded and rubbed over the entire area, hard, and could not feel a thing but he says it is there and is now worried and paranoid about it. The thing is his best friend is currently battling cancer and he has been helping him out a lot. Could this be paranoia from that, should he see a doctor anyway, advice please?

I dont think you can class this as paranoia Phili, just a concern he has.

Of course he should go to the doctor, as all of us should with any lump or bump, that way the expert can reassure him that nothing is wrong and he can forget about it.

Sorry to hear about his best friend.  I hope he is on the road to recovery.
