snowbear
Hi Helenangela and welcome to the forum. This topic of compulsive skin picking (CSP) is more common than you'd think but only comes up for discussion on the forum now and then. In case you don't get much response from current users, you should find useful information on some old threads on the subject. Try putting 'compulsive skin picking' into the search box on the right hand side of the blue bar (top of page) and scroll down to read the answers. Link to comment
chaosed
I'm doing it often, it's a compulsion? I don't feel like my anxiety levels rise if I don't do it. But I do it most of the time in situation which stress me out a little. Like when I'm studying, for example, and trying to concentrate I also peel off the callosities on my feet - gross! and I squeeze my pimples until I'm left with red ugly spots all over my head. Well I thought I shouldn't do it, and it's something that I don't want to do, as it makes my face and feet look ugly. But I have no idea these could be considered compulsions! gingerbreadgirl
I have this same type of issue and it definitely gets much worse when I'm stressed. Some people have told me it can be treated with habit reversal therapy (although I confess I haven't got any further with this), worth looking into anyway xx Link to comment
