What makes you feel that you need home visit therapy?    Unless you have very specific contamination or hoarding issues then most people don't need or would benefit from home based therapy.

Why?   Why is that a valid reason to need home therapy and why is it not just an excuse to avoid therapy?   Time to ask yourself and answer yourself honestly.

It's a choice. If you want to get better, if you want to live a life without OCD then you need to find a way to once a week get out to go and see a therapist.

I personally feel that assisting you to find a therapist would do you more harm than good. It would be encouraging you to view yourself as less capable than you actually are.

Then what makes you think having therapy at home will be different?

Look, you are really, really, really, really lucky that there are several specialist OCD treatment clinics available on the NHS in south London which doesn't mean too much travel. For many people outside of London getting to treatment is significantly harder because they don't have specialist clinics within a hour.   Instead of trying to find a therapist that does home visits (that may not help) would it not be better fighting to get access to one of the specialist treatment clinics?

But you need to help yourself before someone else can help you.

One of the specialist clinics (ADRU at the Bethlem) offers residential treatment, where patients stay Mon-Fri (the clinic is not staffed out of hours).  Maybe you should consider that as an option.

Would i b able to go there or do you have to have tried cbt before a few times before you can go there.

You do have to have tried CBT first usually, unless you get your local NHS agree to fund the referral directly.

That sounds like it wouldnt happen for me i wouldnt know what to do to get nhs to fund it

Think i just need cbt home visits i dont know how i would get there and get back even if i did get to go there

Life is one long fight David, especially for those of us who have difficulties with our mental health. To misquote Mohammed Ali, it's not the size of the mountain that defeats you, it's the stone in your shoe. It strikes me that you need to summon some mettle from somewhere. Just enough strength to start that big boulder rolling. It's not the fittest who survive. It's those most willing to adapt. Can you adapt your preconceptions about yourself enough to recognise that you have it in you to take the necessary first step of leaving the house once weekly to visit a therapist?

Well, I will continue to root for you anyway pal. I hope, as I did, you wake up one morning having had your fill of being beaten and make the decision that this is a fight you're going to win.

He should be coordinating every aspect of your care. Including organising therapy. You've asked who can help you. He can. It's his job.

He said i need to find a cbt therapist because i need home visits but i cant do it
