Fluoxetine (Prozac) - Hearing Loss

I have had an email from someone who had read one of the side effects is hearing loss, which I had not heard before. I said I would post on our forums to see if anybody else had experienced this. I wondered if anybody else had experienced this with Prozac?  Either short term or long term?

Hi Ashley. I have taken Fluoxetine on and off over the years, often at 60mg a day. Whilst I have never suffered from hearing loss, I do find that it affects the sensitivity of my hearing, also causing periodic 'gushing' and 'gusting' sounds.

I have been on Fluoxetine for almost a year, started off on 20mg a day which was upped to 40mg a day about February. I had many side effects but don't recall anything around my hearing.

Hello Ashley,

I am on a daily dose of 60mg and my hearing appears a-okay.
