daja
I have a pathetic phobia I have had this one for a while and haven't posted about it as I know what you will say: no reassurance and no avoidance. I fear touching plastic especially if I have wet hands. Sounds stupid huh? Link to comment
taurean
Is it a phobia or is it an OCD contamination/harm fear? You say fear of stuff spreading, so sounds OCD. Since plastics are, to my own understanding, inert except at extremely high temperatures, what evidence do you have that touching plastic with wet hands creates any kind of risk or threat? daja
Yes it is OCD as I perform compulsions/rituals. In my stupid head I feel that the plastic is only inert when dry. Especially say carrier bags. Link to comment
taurean
Then that is not true daja, as usual OCD is lying. So you need to see that, stop believing that lie, and ease down on the - pointless - compulsions that are simply giving credence to a lie. You can do this over time, work away at it Link to comment
