Your anxiety is over-functioning, along with emotions such as guilt, disgust etc. Your thoughts feed your anxiety. Your anxiety feed your thoughts. It's more of a continuous circle than one directly causing the other. Link to comment

As mentioned in another thread bobby, it may be helpful to spend some time understanding how OCD works... you wont go far wrong with a book called Break free from OCD. The more we understand OCD, the better our chances of getting a handle on it and making progress. Link to comment
