I was trying to say how much do we need if anything to punish ourselves how do we let go and move on when  we make mistakes

If its something you regret doing to another person you:

1. Take well balanced responsibility for the action and its consequences. Meaning...

2. Make it right by apologising and showing the person you hurt that you understand what you did was wrong.

3. Don't punish yourself endlessly. If you've said sorry and that you don't want to do it again, that's enough.

4. Forgive yourself. As soon as you've forgiven yourself, naturally you will move on. This is ok, there is nothing wrong with moving on.

5. Ignore your oCD using the methods you've learned that work for you!

I'm very hard on myself as well.

However, someone taught me recently to treat myself like I would treat a friend. What would you tell a friend who made a mistake?
