stopthinking
Does anyone get an intrusive thought or even think they thought it on purpose. For example I was itching my backside and a thought popped in say that's how it would feel if you was touching a young persons backside to my disgust. Now I'm thinking if I wanted to think it or did I imagine it for a split second how it would feel. Like for a second I wanted to think it. I don' know. I just need some help on this. Please if anyone can reply then do. Link to comment
Chels
It's just an intrusive thought I wouldn't try and work out what it means or why you thought it. Iv had similar thoughts before. It's normal just nobody really talks about it! Don't worry x Link to comment
JennieWren
Yes this kind of thought is completely normal and mental chaff. Normal people without OCD have thoughts like this. They just attach no meaning to it do they go away. The more you worry about this the more importance you will give it. And so the cycle begins of endless rumination and testing. There is no need to go there. As Taurean would say, just say 'that's just my silly brain' and focus on something else. Link to comment
PolarBear
Trying to work out if you wanted it is actually a compulsion. You get drawn in to analyzing your thoughts, which is a no win situation. Leave it alone. Refuse to get into mind debates about the thought. Link to comment
