stopthinking
Hello I' having a hard time at the moment. I'm trying anything possible to get better although I can't get to therapy due to working away. I'm trying self help books cutting out alcohol and plenty of exercise as I'm a seasoned runner. Does anybody practice meditation and has it improved any ones situation? I'm very unhappy and everyday seems like a struggle and wiling to try anything and everything possible. Your feedback is appreciated. Thanks. Link to comment
taurean
Yes I practice meditation and it helps me relax and sleep. To get into the idea of it, I try a guided meditation. You may be able to find some free guided meditation downloads online, or some you tube videos. But a brilliant CD/download from Amazon is "mini meditations for stress-free living" by Simonette Vaja. She is an Australian psychologist, and her voice guides you through each ten minute meditation, each a visualisation - first one a homestead in the outback, third a trip out into the country with green rolling hills. Others include a waterfall, treatment at a health spa, and a morning visualisation. When we lose ourselves into the story and visualisations, it eases away from our troubles and stressors. styx402
Yes, I also practice meditation and have found it really helpful at slowing down when I am anxious or for that matter when I just want to take 10 minutes out. Along with taurean’s suggestion, checkout The Honest Guys on YouTube they offer some really great guided meditations and they are all free. Link to comment
Dragonfly
I find meditation helps me too when I’m anxious. It definitely helps slow my mind down. I’ll have to try the ones mentioned above. I usually just google 10 minute meditations for anxiety. Hope you feel better soon x Link to comment
