After three weeks out of the saddle due to pressures of work, and then a cold I was back on the bike today. Only 22 miles, but I did a lot of climbing (1500ft). Tired legs tonight but I will do another 20 miles tomorrow.

It lasted yesterday where I am. I set off to the newsagent, for my Times, the cafe and to have a spectacles refitting, wearing polo shirt and shorts. The lasdies all thought I was nuts. I think I may be on for hypothermia!!

Crazily, the weather got better and better as the day progressed yesterday, and it was really hot yesterday evening.
I studied meteorology as an add-on at school, so understand the difficulties of forecasting, even now with the latest technology!

Thank you all. It really does help. I am struggling a bit with my training due to the awful workload, so right now I need to work on getting the balance right between work and training. I think I need to start getting up an hour early and doing a quick 15 miles (about 1hr 10 min ride time) before breakfast at the very least each day.

Apparently people have been complaining that the dinosaurs in the new Jurassic Park film don't have feathers. Dinosaurs brought to life in a lab from DNA millions of years old: perfectly fine. No feathers: a bridge too far, it seems.

Not all dinosaurs had feathers though and actually, cloning dinosaurs is far more realistic that them being cloned with a different appearance.

I confess, my oven is far from pristine as I grill everything. I'd love to know what products they use on shows like Saturday Morning Kitchen where the ovens are in showroom condition
