Hello, i had the cleaning side of OCD for many years since a child managed to tackle it myself, recently i have had a lot of stress around me lasting for about 2 or 3 months and i just woke up with the most horrendous panic attack, my taste buds are gone, lost loads of weight in past week, and i have developed more of the Obessive side of OCD with horrible thoughts when im talking to someone it will be "hes a *******" or "call him a *******" "your must die" its really scary but so far im just ignoring it, im also getting a strange image like a cartoon cat that flashes in and out, im ignoring this as ive been told that if you talk back and say "go away" which i have been doing! it can make the image and whatever it is telling me stronger. Has anyone with OCD experienced this? and what do they do when things appear? I saw my mental health team yesterday and they said its severe anxiety. May i just add i have been on ciltalopram in the past just been put on 10mg also this all started when i took the mini pill micronor, any ladies on here with anxiety / ocd please mention you have mental health issues before taking any contraception as i believe the pill has brought all this to the surface.

Any advice would be great as this is new territory to me and extremely frightening at the moment many thanks xx

Hi Laila123,

Welcome to the forum :welcome:

What you've described sounds like intrusive thoughts, does your mental health team include a CBT therapist? If so, I would recommend having a word with them about your thoughts & seeing what they think.

I think you are doing right by not ruminating on these thoughts, but if it is OCD exposure treatment will help you to deal with them in the long term.

I'm also currently taking Citalopram 10mg, I've used it in the past & it has really helped me to deal with my OCD.

Hope you enjoy the forum, I would also recommend taking a look around the rest of the site, espeacially the bits on OCD & it's various types.

Regards

Symps
