I'm 16 at the moment but I've had very bad OCD all my life and I can't stop worrying about everything. I'm in the middle of my GCSEs at the moment and its really distracting me from my work. I'm worried I'll fail my tests. I've been speaking to teachers, counsellors, doctors and psychiatrists on and off for years but nothing's worked. My family think I've been ok for a while since before a few months ago recently but thinking about it I don't think I've ever been ok. I'm going to see CAMHS this week but I'm not sure if they will work after nothing else has. I don't know what form of OCD I have - it seems to be some of everything at different times. I'm new to this forum so it would be good to know I'm not alone and there are other people out there with the same worries I have. Thanks for reading! :original:

You are surely not alone. Every flavor of OCD possible is represented on the forum.

Times of stress (like taking exams) always makes OCD worse. Right now the best thing you can do is take care of yourself, breathing, trying to relax, setting aside time to do things you love.

Hi Pebbles and welcome to the forum :)

If OCD is affecting your exams then you may be able to apply for special consideration from the exam boards. You would need a letter from your GP or perhaps CAMHS explaining how OCD affects you and the school then applies to the exam boards. I'm not 100% sure on how it works but the GP or maybe the school should be able to explain it to you.

When I was doing my GCSEs I didn't want this; however my OCD was affecting me so badly that my teachers felt it would be best. The GP was fine writing the letter and my school were great - they took care of the rest for me. In the end the special consideration wasn't used but it was a relief to know it was there as stress can make OCD worse and I was already up until 2am most nights washing and cleaning.

I am going through exactly the same!

I have been going to Camhs for a month now and it really helps to have someone to talk too:-)
