the trigger came again

Recommended Posts

Oh no an incidence happened today really did trigger my ocd. I was able to go through my hardship for several days and resisiting my compulsion and it has been so good but today had been really tough. The feeling is aweful and i couldn't stay consistent which result in various thought just pop out on my mind. It feel so real like the thought of why that incidence happen, was it not a coincident or what. I'm sorry if i sound like i'm asking for reassure but i just don't know what i'm going to do. It is just so hard. I'm just doing okay but why things like this happen again? Why me? Why..

There is no benefit in asking the questions.

We have a message on our wall. Why me? Answer Why not me?

When I was in therapy before XMAS and keeping a log of intrusions, blow me if I didn't encounter, in one week, 3 of my most feared triggers that over the last say 25 years I had rarely thought of or encountered.

But did I read something mysterious or magical into that? No; before the therapist had a chance to tell me, I told her I knew it was just coincidence.

If you have an obsession about the no 11 or Volkswagen cars, you will see them everywhere.

Look at the meaning OCD gives our obsessions and find a more rational answer - like above.

When other intrusions pop in either just note them as OCD or take the sting out of them first as above.

Thank you Roy. I really should gather my mind and strength back.
