Look, that's trying to rationalize with the OCD, a way to convince yourself that you wouldn't or couldn't do something bad. That's basically thinking of a good thought to negate the bad thoughts you get (obsessions). That makes doing so a compulsion and that's something you don't want to do. Far better is taking a, who cares, kind of approach to your thoughts. Maybe you would, maybe you wouldn't. It doesn't matter. Let the thoughts pop up in your head and do nothing with them. Don't try to negate them. Don't try to analyze them. Don't try to work them out. Just leave them alone and let them float around. Link to comment
