  1. I can't see them dismissing you without transferring you first and seeing how that goes.If they don't give you a fair trial somewhere else I would think they are leaving them selves wide open for unfair dismissal especially in light of the evidence with the email.xxx
  2. Hi Daisy. What happens when you try the ssris.I have often wondered if they could be started much more gradually than people are often advised. When I started taking them they said they would have bad side effects to start with but does anyone know what would happen if a much lower dose was used to start ?I'm so sorry that you are still suffering so much xx
  3. Yes Penny. How did it go and how are you?xxx
  4. what about coming off the mirrors gradually as you might come off drugs.I found this helful.Reduce the time and frequency a little each day until you are looking only once a day in the morning to get ready and can resist any further checking until the next day.Worked for me really well.Have you read the book " Body image problems including body dysmorphic disorder " by David Veale.Really helped me a lot
  5. Hi Sunshine girl. How long have you been feeling like this and how are you feeling right now?
  6. Hi PP.Your upbringing has made things a little worse for you in this respect I reckon.I know you mum is very religious and that coupled with low self esteem and in particular your OCD are making things worse.I can imagine how frightening it must be dealing with a super being but although I very much doubt you will be able to question your basic faith it does seem that you can question some of the theories. After all no one knows for sure what is true .We can only make theories and check them.People who have seen God may have been having Hallucinations. You don't need to be an amazingly good person to get God's approval anyway I heard.Over here the opinion is more that being average is fine and in the Uk I can't think of hardly anyone who would get into Heaven with the standards you set yourself. To me you seem a very nice and kind young lady but I'm sure you aren't perfect but try to accept that you don't need to be a saint in this life and try to learn to just be yourself because you are just fine as you are xx
  7. yes not looking too often is a big help.Only use the mirror to get ready. It is important that no one has mentioned your face so keep in mind that it might be something that only you have noticed :original:
  8. Hi Harry.Sometimes it's better to limit the number of times a ritual is performed because trying to achieve too much all at once results in failure which is very discouraging and depressing.A little at a time will often achieve a lot more in the end
  9. Could this effect all be caused by the mental problems surrounding BDD.Most of the people who have this procedure will be majorly concerned with their appearance anyway.I know someone who had Bell's Palsy and looked perfectly normal a few years later. One side of his face exactly matched the other.Muscle tone surely would rebuild as the muscles are used again?I bet an outside observer would look at you and not notice that anything had been done in a few years time.Have people mentioned that your appearance has changed for the worse recently?
  10. well i will arrange the chat session around you so i won't let you miss it lol.Partners of OCD sufferers might sometimes make things worse. We don't always choose the best partners for ourselves.I think Purple piper would like to be involved in a chat session too xxx
  11. yea me neither.I will organize with others.how is it going with your partner
  12. Hi Daisy.I've been same really.I wondered if you might like a chat session sometime when we could catch up with a few of us.Do you think you might try again sometime soon?
  13. Hi ajs.Botox treatments are just temporary though aren't they?Does the muscle not just go back to how it was before ?
  14. Hi ajs.I got that book and it was very helpful. It might help you to realize that you are very harsh about assessing your appearance.Did people used to comment on your jaw?
  15. Hi Sophgie.Really sorry you are having such a bad time.A good thing to do with BDD seems to be to gradually reduce the time and frequency that you spend looking in nthe mirror because it is the looking that is feeding the obsession. If you look say 50 times a day for five mins each time make your self a goal to reduce the times yopu look more and more each day to say 25 after a week and keep on doing this until after a while you use the mirror ONLY for a function such as putting make up on or getting ready to go out and keep the frequency of these looks to a minimum.Don't allow yourself to look longer than is necessary. How are you feeling today?
