Guest Cuddlygeek
I will be keeping as anonymous as possible, as I want help and to help. Had an account with a previous email address about 4 years ago. Was diagnosed 5 years ago, but suffering symptoms as long as I can remember! Been on Sertraline the five years, sadly having changed my lifestyle to help combat OCD, things have been going fine (for the most part), great of late. Sadly a family tragedy and a mistake at work, has knocked my coping skills. Link to comment
Symps07
Hey Cuddlygeek, Sorry to hear that you are going through a rough patch I don't know exactly what has gone wrong or what your 'themes' are, but when I have shaky time I try to remember to put things in perspective, look realistically at what's in your control & what's not. Don't allow OCD to make things seem worse than they are & if your coping skills have been knocked, then reavaluate them & go back to basics. The most important thing is not to allow you negative thoughts to overwhelm you & stay resistant to them. Welcome (back, I guess! :original: ) Symps Link to comment
Guest Cuddlygeek
Germs, illness, religious, sexual, hurting others, are unfortunately my themes. Think I hit a good patch and now a deep pit. 1 bump, a big bump and it's back bad as before. Link to comment
Symps07
Similar thing happened to me, in that I had therapy a few years ago, thought I'd dealt with my OCD, finally came off my meds September'ish last year, & then was back on them in December & back in therapy :-/ But, I've learnt my past lessons (I hope!) I am being more thorougher this time & implementing positive changes! :original: Link to comment
