OCD severe

Hello,

My OCD has become so severe that I can't even sit anymore without doing OCD compulsions and intrusive thoughts never leave my head.

Any ideas? Doesn't feel worth it living this life like this!

Didn't want to read this and leave. I can sympathise. Try to distract yourself by doing something to give you some peace. Don't give into the ocd xx

Try allowing the thoughts to flow through your mind. Be patient, their power will subside and your anxiety levels will drop. Also, recognise what your compulsions are, and refrain from doing them.

Thank you very much to both of you- I will definitely take your feedback on board!

Regards

Hi, I have spent quite a bit of time consumed by ocd, and it's awful. I wish I could tell you a simple answer but there isn't one, believe though that the compulsions are making it worse. The thoughts were so intrusive and convincing that I was compelled to answer them but this only fueled the thoughts. I suspect that you already know the routine on how to battle ocd but let me give you some insight into my struggle. In the beginning for me it seemed hard to believe that refusing the simple little compulsions that it would ever make a difference on the bigger ones but it does over time. Also like the others have suggested try and look into some methods to allow these thoughts to pass through on their own way. We get stuck on thoughts that should have moved on and everything we do to make them better only increases the number or the severity or both! I have been trying to use mindfulness to keep myself from being locked on a thought although I am not too good at it yet.

It ain't easy but there is hope I am now beginning to see some progress.

Hey,

Many thanks for replying to me. I will keep working at letting the thoughts pass through on their way.

Many thanks again and I hope mindfulness proves useful for you.
