Hi finally signed up

Hi my name is Gemma and i have had ocd for 11 years. I first got ocd when i was about 15, it was counting ocd.

I got over that and had a few ocd free years before uni. I got ocd again when i was 19 this time it was contamination ocd. Since then i have been hugely restricted at times and at others i have nearly had my life back.

I have wanted to sign up since around 2004/2005 when me and my boyfriend found the charity and we called you asking for help but have struggled with that. You were great then and i have always turned to ocduk when i have got worse or been struggling.

Hi Gemma welcome to the board, glad you took the step and signed up you will get more out of the board when you are interacting with other people. Ocd sometimes changes its focus, at first I was doing checking and then it changed to contamination but no matter the obsession the pattern is always the same.
