four steps help please

Hello im trying to do the four steps but its so hard. I can stop getting sucked into my ocd. It never stops the thoughts are there all the time so how can I do step 1when I have no break from the thoughts? Thank you Lila

I don't have compulsions I just cant stop thinking about past regrets, I feel so guilty a d im freaking out about the future too. The thoughts are there every moment im awake and I can get away from them. I have stopped seeing my friends as I feel so guilty as I horrible to some of them in the past. They have told me there is no problem but I cant stop worrying. Also I have many regrets of other real things so im overwhelmed by it. Thanks lila

you have done compulsions , rumination for one , a reaction to the thoughts from the past , because the thoughts

wont go away , youve then also carried out another compulsion ,called reassurance seeking , thats asking the

friends if you were bad , due to the thoughts you are having

you are also using avoidance , as another safety mechanism , by not going out with friends because

of the thoughts

What help have you had for your ocd ?

I am on medication citalopram and mirtazapine - they dont help. The doctors have put me on a waiting list but i cant wait. I heard of the four steps but i dont feel im able to apply them.
