  1. Keep watching the porn if you enjoy it. Avoiding it is probably a bad idea.
  2. Hi Sarah. Sorry to hear you're still in the same place you were a few years back. As we know our obsessions are very similar. A desire to gain absolute clarity on a past event. As we know it's impossible to do this and the more we ruminate the worse the symptoms get. Stay strong and don't give up.
  3. Hi guys you may remember me. I'm having a relapse at the moment and my current obsession revolves around losing my job. I'm moving and need the finances to relocate. I'm constantly thinking that I'm insulting customers out loud when the thoughts are in my head. It's driving me crazy, I'm pushing my girlfriend away and she feels helpless. I've tried agreeing with the thoughts and trying to habituate to the anxiety and it's getting worse. I'm borderline suicidal again. Any help will be great, thank you.
  4. Do you think your reaction is rational Chelsey?
  5. Unfortunately ruminating only makes the problem worse. I have literally ruminated for days at a time in the past only to end up suicidal and no closer to an answer that I desperately seeked. I know it's hard but you've got to try and occupy your mind elsewhere.
  6. It doesn't matter what the content is, your dealing with OCD. Everyone's obsession feels unique to them, that's just the nature of the illness.
  7. It's still distorting memories which is essentially the same thing. You deal with it in the same way, accept that you will never know the answer for definite. Searching for answers only makes things more unclear.
  8. How are you doing with cutting down forum time and over analysing Roy?
  9. I think it's apparent that your posts here on the forum are feeding your OCD. You're trying to tackle OCD in a logical, clinical approach. It just doesn't work that way. Perhaps some time away from the forum will do you good Roy.
  10. Exposures are good. You can perform thought exposures where you imagine that what you fear comes true.
  11. Hey, a big part of my ocd was doubting my memory and forming false memories. I suggest everyone to take a look at GBGirl's thread as the advice in there is spot on to overcoming this type of obsession.
  12. Let's not fall into the rumination trap. The answers to those questions probably won't help. The real problem here is OCD.
  13. Had a few PMs asking if I'm still around. I'm still here, I've just been quite busy and haven't had the time to contribute recently. Hope you're all doing well. Keep fighting, always push towards the anxiety rather than away from it. Josh .
