Sorry this may be too graphic, rude

Recommended Posts

Hi, sorry I feel really disgusting and I know it's wrong and I am disgusting! I was on Instagram and I clicked a link #sleepy on a dog sleeping and the amount of porn that came on! But then I actually scrolled through loads of pages of porn and even looked the next day! It wasn't anything like really bad, women with vibrators and masturbating but now I'm terrified that I'm going to get done for watching porn! I've never done it before and I really regret it but is it illegal? I know certain horrible stuff is but this was just women self pleasuring. Yes still disgusting but am I going to get done? Is it illegal? I deleted my account because I feel disgusting and I don't want to get roped in to looking at any again. Help please, panic!!!!

(Reluctantly) I'll answer once and the answer is No.

Will that stop you worrying? Sadly the answer is also No. You're OCD will push you to get more clarification. Try your best to resist and recognise what's pushing all the buttons. Nipping it in the bud ASAP is the best course of action.

Good Luck and recognise that the disorder is at play here :)

Certain types of pornography are illegal, yes.

Read Boogies post and reply to the content of that. Clearly some pornography is illegal, clearly the description above isn't. So what exactly is your purpose or point in commenting as you do (again)?

We are a forum that exists to help and support sufferers, I see little of that (if any) in your replies. Please try and restrict your responses to ones that are legitimately helpful or button it.

I really struggle to understand your motives Handy!!

You have to separate the action from the OCD reaction/response. Viewing porn is a common choice that millions of people choose to do as part of their sexual activities, something that will be borne out by hundreds of our users here. Others don't.

In your instance your OCD has taken the situation and latched onto it. Now you have to look at the compulsions (behaviours/things you're doing) directly after you have this doubt and surge of anxiety and aim to reduce and stop doing them.

I think it would be helpful to seek some help. You could see your GP as the first port of call or you could self-refer through IAPT. Your GP's surgery will have leaflets telling you who the provider is in your area.
