PolarBear
This subject has been raised several times on the forum. The general consensus is that menopause, with it's raging hormones, causes OCD to worsen. Link to comment
Guest penny0305
Yes definitely. I had ocd in my late teens and twenties. It pretty much disappeared in my thirties but came back with avengeance in my early forties. I am now 45 and have just been told after blood tests that I am heavily perimenopausal. I am waiting to start hrt to see if it helps. My ocd is horrendous now and anxiety levels are sky high. Link to comment
Caramoole
The perimenopausal stage wreaks havoc unfortunately Link to comment
Tez
My mum's depression was affected negatively by the menopause, but as things settled down afterwards, she enjoyed much more stable modds and we got her some help. Today, she takes a small dose of amitrypteline daily and she snjoys very good mental health. Tez :original: Link to comment
