Hi,

Wait times can vary across England, you would need to check with your local IAPT service in the North East by calling the relevant local one for you from this list: http://www.iapt.nhs.uk/services/services/north-east-nhs-iapt-services/

Things have improved in general across England, some services are were 1 year to 18 months a few years ago, but in most areas I would guesstimate 3-6 months is the average wait.

What I would say is never write an abusive letter to the NHS (or anyone for that), whilst some services do have long waiting lists, it is not the fault of the front line staff, and abusive letters only get the backs up of the people trying to help you, and if anything may slow services down for you. It is fine to write and ask them when you can expect services to begin, and complain if you are not happy with the response, but the moment the complaint becomes abusive they would be within their rights (in my opinion) to refuse service.

If you do find you're waiting an excessive time, then we can look to advise a course of action for you.

Ashley. :)
