Guest Sisyphus
Hi everybody I have been suffering since October last year with horrible intrusive thoughts, repetetive music in my head , anxiety and depression. Half way through CBT and also on meds. Very slow process, does it get easier ? Hi Lincoln, I can't asnwer your question as I've just started a round of CBT after a total diaster with the first lot. But from what I gather, if the therapy goes to plan, it can only get easier as benefits seem to kind of riff off eachother or combine to have unexpected secondary benefits. But I'm not there yet, and of course there's no guarantee therapy will work. We just have to give it 150% and hope for the best don't we. I get intrusive thoughts too. Not the music, though I've seen a couple of people talk about that on here too. I think anxiety and depression is a very common one with this. Maybe everyone even? Anyway I hope you can find some good knowledge and empathy here. The main and busiest forum in the OCD one so I'd advise you to post stuff you'd like an answer to there. Some days that drops off though and posts go unanswered, then get pushed way down the next morning by new posts. But usually stuff gets some kind of response on there. All the best, David. legalseagull
It varies. Progress can be slow but then you'll look back and realise how far you've come (hopefully). Don't give up, therapy may not work first time or completely cure you but most people get some benefit from it. Link to comment
