Guest paramoregirl
Hi there, I have an excellent supportive GP who is going to try and refer me to the Maudsley hospital for some help . I hear they have a special ocd unit. However I know the Maudsley have a strict acceptance criteria. Can anyone tell me what the criteria is please? I would hate to get my hopes up for nothing Many thanks. x Link to comment
Guest Charlotte
Hello On the SLAM website, I found the following - ELIGIBILITY 18+ years Male or female A primary diagnosis of an anxiety disorder Must be willing to attend regular sessions and travel to the centre Must be willing to complete questionnaires to monitor progress, and to have treatment sessions recorded EXCLUSION Current psychosis or bipolar disorder requiring treatment in its own right Current alcohol or drug dependence requiring treatment in its own right Current severe depressive disorder requiring treatment in its own right, in particular immediate suicide risk Borderline personality disorder that requires treatment in its own right I think that all prospective patients are assessed thoroughly and whilst they may not be able to offer you treatment, they can also liaise with your CMHT to make sure that you get the best treatment possible. Good luck! Lottie Link to comment
Ashley
The acceptance criteria is not so much strict, the main problem is the actual funding for the treatment by the local NHS. It depends how your GP is planning to make the referral as to the acceptance. Link to comment
