taurean
My wife does and knows just how much it helps sufferers. I have recommended it to various people I know who suffer from OCD, or their children do. Link to comment
ailo
Yes, and i sometimes regret it.. cause now we are having a break.. and he knows my name in here, and its not all of my posts i want him to read..sometimes i feel i write my deepest thoughts and diary here, its kind of personal, and things i just want to discuss with others who have ocd, or knows ocd.. So my advice, its ok to tell your in the forum if you think he will support that.. (as i hope he does) But be anonyme.. is my advice Link to comment
ailo
But i think it can be helpful for them with the friends family carer side.. But it depends on the person you re with i guess.. Link to comment
OCDCanuck
My wife knows. She works in mental health, so she knows the value of support groups. Link to comment
legalseagull
No way! He kind of knows about my OCD but I play it down (a lot). I'd be far too embarrassed for him to know I'm on here. Link to comment
Kevyla
My wife knows I'm on here and that it helps me, but she also seems to get annoyed when she sees me on here, as she realises it's because I'm not feeling great and searching for some support/help. Link to comment
taurean
My wife would get annoyed if I spent too long one here; and she, and the forum users who told me this too, were right. For me, it is best used as a search for help when needed, or a means to assist others in need, not as just another compulsion - and not to spend too much time consumed by thinking about the illness, giving it prominence from which we actually need to be breaking free. Now I think I have the right balance, with the added lift of my own spirits by knowing, from positive feedback, that my input does make a real difference for others. Link to comment

taurean
My wife doesn't wish for me to spend too long on the forum on OCD - I am pointing out to her that some of of the time I spend on here I use the non-OCD members' of OCD-UK forums, on a variety of pleasing, enjoyable subjects!. Chirpy
My hubby knows and doesn't although he sometimes finds it hard to understand what my ocd is about. Link to comment
PolarBear
My wife is very supportive of my time on the forum. She knows everything about my OCD and thinks it is fantastic I spend so much time trying to help other people. Link to comment
taurean
My Mrs keeps a check to make sure I don't spend too much time on the support forum, since we know too much time thinking about the disorder is unhelpful to me personally. But she does support me seeking to help others. She has just realised I can access here via this phone as well as the laptop. Shucks, the game is up - like being under surveillance ...... :original: Link to comment
