I worry a lot about my hair, teeth, nose, and my thighs (although the thighs might because that's where I mostly cut). Another major concern is my glasses. I sometimes spend more than an hour in the bathroom trying to fix everything. I try to push and pull my teeth straight and I've considered swishing bleach around my mouth to make them less yellow but then my OCD comes and says "No what if you have a cut in your mouth from biting your cheek or accidentally swallow it? You're gonna swallow it and die." I've also used a lot of lotion because where I live is extremely dry year round. I spend a long time in the morning trying to make my hair perfect. I spend 11 minutes (exactly. If I accidentally go too long it's 15 minutes) brushing my teeth (not sure if OCD or BDD). I carry mints and a hairbrush almost everywhere. I really don't think I do because it's usually just in the morning and a night and hardly during the day unless someone stares at me. So is it just my OCD or do I also have BDD? Link to comment
lovid Posted July 11, 2014 Share Posted July 11, 2014 Hi DOA.I'm not really sure whether it's BDD or OCD or both but I would guess both but that's very common.It doesn't really matter at this stage what the diagnosis is but it sounds as if it's something that really bothers you.I note from another post that you aren't in therapy.If I were you I would go along to your doc and explain how you are behaving and feeling and get yourself some help with this.Good luck Link to comment
