Guest Nikki79
Just wondering how I can figure out if something from my past that is bothering is ocd. I mean I've left it go before as ocd but whenever I try now it kicks me in the teeth as something bad I've done. I'm not getting past it and its tearing me up and depressing me. The thing is if I leave this go a new one will worry me so how do I move on?? Link to comment
PolarBear
Stop trying to figure out if it is OCD related or not. It's not what did or didn't happen in the past that is the problem. The problem is how you are reacting now. I believe you are worried about something in the past where you are not sure if you did something or not. This is a type of false memory OCD. Trying to figure it out only keeps it top of mind and reinforces obsessions in the future. Stop trying to figure it out. Take an, "Oh well" attitude and move on. Resist the temptation to figure things out. Resist going over it in your head. Resist any other compulsions you are performing. Link to comment
Guest Nikki79
Polarbear its just I can't bare I acted on sick things. I mean I have no sick desires but I did an act when I knew I had tension from thoughts that were obsessive. I feel I had the picture in my mind and then acted on it. I mean how Polarbear is that ok?? PolarBear
What's not okay is you running this through your mind non-stop and getting nowhere but where you are now. If you do nothing different than you are now you will not overcome this situation. You will stay stuck. Link to comment
