Ashley
This thread will be updated by the moderators on a regular basis, with links to various helpful threads on the forum, and other useful resources. The first place we recommend all new forum users to visit before posting is the OCD-UK website, where you will find a whole range of resources, and information about the condition and treatments. The OCD-UK website We do recommend spending some time reading the OCD-UK website before posting on the forum, the website will contain many of the answers to the questions that you may well have right now. In addition to the main OCD-UK website, using the search facility here on the forums you may also find many threads and discussions on the subject, and your form of OCD. In times of crisis we all need someone to turn to, and for many of us, being able to turn to people here on the forums will be sufficient, but for some you may need support that is outside of our capabilities from other support networks. We hope these telephone numbers and contacts will help you in times of crisis. (All open 24/7 unless stated otherwise) - NHS Direct - 0845 46 47 - NHS 24 Scotland - 08454 24 24 24 - NHS Wales - 0845 46 47 - Samaritans - 08457 90 90 90 Email - Saneline - 0845 767 8000 (check for opening times, which may vary) - NHS Choices - Well Scotland - Calm - 0800 585858 (For 15-35 year old men with suicidal feelings - open 5pm-Midnight) If you are in crisis and in need of urgent and immediate support, we recommend you try and call your GP, if out of surgery hours then contact your local A+E hospital. The GP and Hospital are there to help you, so don't hesitate to reach out for help when you need it. The following posts will include details of links members of the moderators have found useful, and potentially helpful to you. Link to comment

Ashley
With a myriad of OCD treatments available and online offers of quick fix cures for OCD, I decided to take a look at what people can do when trying to find a therapist privately. This article offers guidance on choosing the right therapist and advice on maintaining the therapeutic relationship when things go wrong, and can be applied to both private and NHS therapists.
