I haven't looked in the mirror yet, we'll done me. To be honest, it's simply because I'm too scared to see what I don't want too see. No exercises for two days now, I feel down and stressed, I am failing is what my mind is telling me and I can't snap out of it, can't think positive anymore.

my therapist will tell me well done and that I'm doing well, not inside I'm not, will I ever ever accept who and what I am?

I know what will fix part of me but it's not that simple, nor is it cheap.

What have you done to work towards stopping looking in the mirror completely? E.g. Did you start cutting down the amount of times that you looked in the mirror and then stop? Or have you just stopped? x

It's also very normal for you to feel down and stressed when you are not doing the things that you would usually do that are bdd related. It's also normal to feel that you've 'failed' your mind. you havent. You're actually taking power over it, and proving to your mind that it does not rule you. In the long shot, if you keep this up, you will eventually get over this period, and will get used to not exercising or looking in the mirror ect. I know it's hard, but I believe you can do it.

It's a very good step forward when you are obsessing all the time and constantly looking to be able to avoid looking in the mirror for a bit.I think the best thing is to learn to use the mirror as a tool to get shaved or get ready but not to scrutinize and don't allow yourself to avoid too much because it can cause problems as well.I found it easier in the end to not look at all. That doesn't work either. It causes problems when you do eventually have to look again.
