Guest Tricia
You really do need to return to your GP. Explain what the last psychiatrist said and ask to be referred to another. Link to comment

Guest Tricia
I have a friend in America who tried over a dozen combinations of medications before she found relief. Also, I know we've spoken about diet, but do you eat a varied diet with plenty of vegetables and some fruit? It is surprising just how much food affects the mind, both positively and negatively. Refined foods can play havoc with depression and anxiety, whereas whole foods do the opposite. P.S. I've only just seen your latest message. Again, diet can work wonders with psoriasis. bruces
I have a poor diet I eat a lot of rubbish but to be honest with you I can't even boil an egg ! Link to comment
Guest Tricia
I've sent you a link via PM. Please don't think for one moment that I am preaching because I have also eaten rubbish and been in the depths of despair. It's far from easy to pull yourself out of it and eat well. However it's kind of a Catch 22 situation. You need to feel better to have the incentive to eat well, but you won't feel better unless you do. P.S. You don't need to boil and egg, just buy ready prepared salads etc from a supermarket if you don't have the energy or will to prepare anything. Edited December 19, 2014 by Tricia Link to comment
Guest Orwell1984
Bruces it may be worth for a short time getting one of those diet chefs who deliver food to you. Then when you're feeling a bit better because of the good food, psoriasis lessening etc you will be able to do more Link to comment
bruces
Is there really a way out of this despair ? Link to comment

Guest nervous
Hi Bruce, I don't have much to offer you in advice everybody is unique and all of us need something else in their lives. Until September I was in very much the same situation I am getting better now but I am still struggling, I think it helps when you find something to involve yourself in, sometimes just taking one thing that means something to you it doesn't mean it is going to solve your problems but it can make a difference. Finding it could be hard it could be something that you have never done before. Link to comment
bruces
I wondered if a complete change of scenery would help. Link to comment
Guest nervous
I wondered if a complete change of scenery would help. Ordinarily I would advise against a geographical cure because, wherever you go there you are, but I believe that for some of us we get so stuck in our day to day lives that one thing just reaffirms the other. Maybe it would, maybe doing something different or meet some new people. Whatever you change in your life you likely will have to change something because it is doubtful you will feel better doing the same as you are now. I am hoping you find what you are looking for, you need some relief in this life. Edited December 19, 2014 by nervous Link to comment
Guest Tricia
I agree that a change might help, but I still think a healthy diet, exercise and a different psychiatrist are essential. Link to comment

Guest Azamour
Like people have said here exercise and eating well will help. SWe yourself some small goals and them try achieve them. Maybe learn how to play a card game? Join a group or even a walk. I would aim to fill 1 more hour per day. Do this for 1 month and then you can look back at the achievement. Why don't you learn to boil that egg to start with? Link to comment
bruces
Getting really stressed out and can't cope with Xmas don't know what to get anybody and can't cope... Link to comment
Guest Tricia
Why don 't you just explain to friends and family that you are too unwell to cope with presents? They will understand and it will be one less pressure. P.S. Have you looked into behavioural activation therapy at all? Edited December 22, 2014 by Tricia Link to comment
Guest Azamour
Why not slow down and set yourself the goal to but presents for people? That can be your objective for the next 2 days. How many presents do you need to buy? How much money do you want to spend? Link to comment
