mummyoftwogirls
Trying really hard to fight this horrible ocd! I tell you what it doesn't like it because it's throwing intrusion/worry one after another I've been triggering so much the last few days I'm trying so hard not to give in and ruminate 80% of the time I'm winning :-) Is it common for intrusions to get more frequent when you fight back? Ascend
Hey . Have you ever tried not fighting the thoughts and just letting them be? Link to comment
mummyoftwogirls
That's what I'm doing most of the time but I'm getting thought after thought so it feels like a constant battle to not engage ie ruminate Link to comment

Guest imalright
Yes! I found that, as I tackled an area of OCD, it would 'fight back' :-) I think a lot of it was to do with the anxiety of not giving in to a compulsion....anxiety/stress aggravating the OCD. Also found that as I tackled one area of OCD...as I didn't give in to the compulsions and OCD started to lessen it's grip on me - it started to sneak up in a different area. Same theme, but different area. So really had to keep an eye on that :-) Keep going - it gets easier and EASIER. :-) Link to comment
taurean
Certainly "Overcoming Intrusive Thoughts" which Flatver used in recovery supports imaltrights comment. And it very much suggests a hierarchical appraoch to necessary ERP. Link to comment
