I made a commitment that any premium bond wins up to £25 I would donate to OCD-UK.
It's been a while - I have £500 invested - but today a cheque for £25 arrived! It wouldn't have changed my life, but it will no doubt help our beloved charity

Merry Christmas and a happy New Year everyone. Let's hope to see more people following the path towards recovery in 2023.
Thanks as always to everyone at OCD-UK for the great work they do on our behalf.

Just finished a whole week of celebrating my 72nd birthday, and a whole year free of OCD.
It's been truly wonderful.

Dear forum friends, tomorrow marks a year that I have gone without OCD causing me problems.
So I know it can be done, if we work on not giving belief to intrusions, phasing out compulsions, and keeping up activities that take time and opportunity away from OCD.
When we work hard to achieve this, the results should come. There will be challenges along the way, it's not easy, but - as I have found- it can be done.

Must be something in the Christmas water. Both one of my nieces, and one of my male friends, got engaged yesterday

For me, keeping really busy and involved in beneficial, interesting, things has been so so beneficial - it left little time for any OCD thinking and behaving.
It's something we can all do, we just need to look for, and do, the right sort of things.
For some, throwing themselves into work, homelife, and some socialising may hit that spot, or something else.
What worked for, retired, me?
A series of ten one-hour one-to-one fitness training sessions with a brilliant personal trainer.
An online zoom course on archaeology.
Joining Tthe local camera club, which meets every week.
Updating my IT gear, and learning how to use the new gear.
What can you do to take time away from OCD, and refocus beneficially?
