    A days fishing under blue skies and factor 15 sunscreen. Total, mindful, bliss.

    A cooling fan and Handel's water music playing - perfect end to a great day.

    A gorgeous vintage biplane with RAF roundels flew over us today. Wonderful sight!

      I think this was part of armed forces day. There is a small still operational aerodrome nearby, that in the war was part of our air defence.

    30 degrees C here Saturday, but it's 40 plus in Europe.

    A friend told me I have the gift to make people laugh. That made me smile.

    My new lawn has "taken" so I can start mowing it shorter, so less frequently.

      And the good news is, it's only a third the extent of grass of the old lawn :smileys-gardening-147427: 

      So more time for us to sit outside, enjoying the garden ?

    I have become an owl and no longer a lark since retiring. And I quite like it.

     Grey heron on the roof opposite. Lake nearby? No. Floods? Yes!

    Plans for a fishing trip tomorrow on hold, due to the weather.

      Hi lost, I deferred the fishing to, hopefully, Friday. Too windy. 

      Instead I went down for breakfast from my friends who run the village café. Then Julie and I did some gardening and had lunch. 

      Then did two more hours gardening, then went to see some friends in the pub. 

      And tonight I have been assembling a flat pack laundry box for Julie. 

      All in all good.

    Today we are celebrating the 15th b'day of our lovely VW Polo CAR.

      We drove him down to the village cafe, where a table had been reserved, and we parked him outside. 

      We all had a lovely time :partytime: though sadly no petrol or oil was available for him to enjoy :a1_cheesygrin:

      Hopefully will be back on soon Roy. We had a power cut about 2 weeks ago -It shows just how much we come to rely on the basics and what an inconvenience it is without them.

      The Flexisec gel has me up and running again, though just a little sore in one place :)

      Need to mow the lawn again, so I will wear my knee brace to protect it. It has seemed to work well.

    No fish showed up today, but I caught sun + a D day air display!

      Just wondering what "Angels" the vintage aircraft were flying at? 

      They weren't too high up, and the noise of the engines was incredible.
