Family event has brought us here and using same) 4-star) hotel we have stayed in before. 

Took a wander down to the Crucible Theatre just before the final session of play. Judd Trump only needed two more frames.

It's been quiet, after a fun breakfast with our friends who run the café. 

But we needed a break to regroup, ready for more building work next week

Yes we get on really well with the team who run the café/tearoom, plus the other regular customers. 

It's a very favourite place, in a 19th century sandstone building. And the food is excellent. 

The builders started to lay the paving today, but there is still many hours of work to do. 

But the result will be fabulous. This is the second garden of ours that Julie has re-designed, and this one will certainly be very elegant and useful. 

Beautiful day in the park  

It's been a great day here of sunshine, classical music and a beautiful shoulder of lamb with mixed vegetables and roast potatoes and parsnips, and a drop of wine from Provence  

The treatment isn't joyous, with regular doses of two different eyedrops, one of which is yellow

But the doc did say I would have to stick with the main treatment for a month, tapering it down gradually. 

The other drops are antihistamine prevention of allergy relapse, since the main cause of my eye distress is a deep-seated allergy. I must take them until end of the hay fever season in July. 

Hope it goes well.

Hospitals, and the NHS, get bad press but we find Northampton General Hospital welcoming and caring. And the staff seem nice  

And we don't try and cope with the parking, we take a taxi to and from - if it can be afforded it's a good option.

Am really grateful that, courtesy of the taxman, I have been able to make these donations. I feel really really proud.

And I needed to tackle the long grass on the lawn in sessions over the past week. 

So I bought a neoprene moderate support knee brace and wore that while I was mowing. 

I think without the brace I might have been in trouble, so I think it's already paid for itself 

Gonna have to cut down on those upper body weight exercises at my gym, or I'll be giving the resident bodybuilders a good run for their money 

His and Hers shoes were duly bought
