  1. I'm trying ERP right now but I feel like some mindfulness would help too! And honestly, I'm sure that's an excellent idea on your part. Social media can be a huge negative influence.
  2. That's pretty true, I never thought of it that way. But yeah, I definitely wasn't asking from a therapeutic point of view, I was just wondering!
  3. I actually was just asking out of curiosity to hear other's experience and I didn't need to know if anyone had the same obsession, I was just wondering about social media. That being said, I've talked about it with my therapist and I'm working on making myself wait longer and longer each time I have the thought to check.
  4. I have two Instagrams, a "spam" (aka an account where you post often about personal things for a curated group of people to read) and a regular account for the general public. I OBSESS over whether I've posted to the wrong account, even when I know I haven't posted anything since I last checked. Sometimes I check to see where I posted something five times in half an hour. I'll be lying in bed, and then suddenly think "WHAT IF I POSTED TO THE WRONG ACCOUNT?!" And have to scramble to my phone to check. It is honestly so annoying- and stressful! Anyone else have bothersome social media related obsessions and/or compulsions?
  5. It's definitely not ridiculous that it's happening while you're away, I'm the exact same. Could it be that breaking out of your routine or being away from home is what's causing such a bad spike?? You're not ruining anyone's holiday- your family cares more about your health than a vacation, I'm sure.
  6. What's going on? Are you referring to what happened in your original post?
  7. Thank you for the tip, and the book recommendations! It's very helpful.
  8. There's no reason for you to have expected that she would touch you in that way if you stood still, and try to stop obsessing over what you thought- since you can't remember it, it must have been nothing. You didn't do anything wrong. Try to let it go.
  9. Wow, you're being really hard on yourself over nothing. I've definitely done that before because I'm too lazy to pull out a cutting board and not thought twice about it. Neither of us are stupid for that. Normal people absolutely would do stuff like cut a banana in a plastic container without even considering the ramifications. Same with eating the banana- seriously, you didn't do anything wrong. And your health is going to be fine, I doubt you ate any plastic and even if you did, an amount that small won't hurt you!
  10. Oh god, calorie counting is killing me! Great job on reducing your calorie counting. Honestly, I'm impressed by the fact that you had the willpower to stop yourself, I will try to do the same. And thanks for the tip, I'll try CBT in the future!
  11. Thank you for taking a look! I guess I'm going to have to, that information seems impossible to find online.
  12. I wonder if it's Topiramate or something similar? I'll try to find a moment in an appointment to ask my doctor.
  13. Maybe Topiramate is like that? You're right, I really should just ask.
  14. Its an anti seizure drug! Thank you for that information though, I'm on an antipsychotic so perhaps I could ask my psychiatrist if there are other options than the one I'm taking that would help with my OCD.
