  1. I would not say it is ''entirely'' an OCD problem. This sounds clearly a dental problem. If it were me (and I have been in such a situation), I would be keeping a close check on it. We have to eat, drink, breath, talk through the mouth. Quite a busy place is the mouth, hence a lot of checking going on. Of course I keep a regular check on what is going on in there. Would anyone want to swallow part of a tooth that cracked off? No thanks! Take extra care until you see the Dentist.
  2. Rest certainly helps me. If I get stressed, that makes me tired. I have noticed over many years that when I am stressed and tired that my OCD behaviours increase. However, taking a rest doesn't always mean sitting down and doing nothing. Sometimes my rest may involve a quiet walk, ie. taking a quiet walk relaxes the mind - that for me is rest.
  3. Perhaps it may be an idea to mention this to your Doctor.
  4. Could I ask if you are on any medication? When I was on fluoxetine (SSRI) I did have some vivid dreams. After discussion with my Doctor we agreed to taper off and stop that medication because of my reaction to the vivid dreams.
  5. Looking on the positive side of things - at least you have spoken to someone and got the ball rolling. What things might you do in the meantime? Self-help books, browsing on here?
  6. I have noticed the same thing. Those that say ''just stop the compulsions'' are looking at things only from the OCD perspective. If they were to look at people's wider mental health issues then they would not come up with such simplistic comments as ''just stop the compulsions. This is an example of what I am saying above and clearly shows that we are not dealing with just OCD on these forums. Likewise, I have depression, OCD and SAD. Add in diagnosed CVD. Simplistic comments like ''just stop the compulsions'' are very hard to stomach. Look at the wider picture.........I would think there are many people on these forums who have wider mental health issues. Let them have their say......
