  1. Just remember it is ALL OCD. It doesn’t matter what ‘flavour’ it is, you deal with it as you would do any other OCD intrusive thoughts. My ‘usual’ OCD is paedophilia but have also had bouts of ‘harm’ and ‘contamination’. … but yes, it can be very distressing when a ‘new’ OCD presents itself or even a new intrusion for the ‘usual’ OCD. Don’t overthink the ‘new’ intrusions- it isn’t a sign you are getting worse (as I made the mistake of thinking). Don’t try to make sense of it - dismiss it and try to get on with your day !
  2. Firstly, make sure you give yourself a big pat on the back for standing up to the OCD! … and a definite yes from me - I am much better when working than when I am at home. I find I can be vulnerable to my OCD on my commute home as well as when I am at home. I try listening to podcasts to distract myself and stop ruminating. Also, have a ‘plan’ for when I get home - exercise / plan dinner / quizzing etc.
