In a bad patch at the minute with these. I can be talking to family members and weird thoughts pop in my head. Anxiety feels higher than ever at the minute. Feel like I’m battling that and thoughts all day every day. How have others suffering this broke the cycle?
-
Intrusive thoughts are hard but do others have anxiety and sudden sweats even when intrusive thoughts aren’t in your mind?
-
I think I’ve always been anxious, out walking on my own, I’m anxious people are looking. In a shop on your own are they looking. Could not stand up infront of a large group and speak. But that anxiety feels different to these intrusive thoughts. Anxiety with these thoughts feel 24/7 and don’t leave whereas the other anxiety is only there when I actually get put in that situation

Does anyone else wake up anxious? This is before my day of spikes and intrusive thoughts. How do you lose the anxiety?
-
Yes we look online constantly for reassurance as we think our thoughts are unrealistic but our mind says otherwise. It’s so hard.

Anybody else get this?

Sexual intrusive thoughts are horrendous. Head is in a spin and excessive sweats. The fear of looking at the same sex and the fear of suddenly turning gay and not wanting my wife. These thoughts are life destroying. -
Constant internal monologue

Yes constant and then sweats and churned stomach. Also it’s like your ears ***** up and focus on things on tv or people to test your problem. -
Anxiety and sweats

Yes, I guess everyone’s problem is catastrophic to them like this is to me. It’s just hard to have them when it’s something completely opposite of my normal thinking and want. -

The bit I don’t get, why would I have thoughts about turning gay when I’ve never been interested in men like that. Always had girlfriends and a wife now. Want kids etc. it’s just so hard to deal with when it’s something completely opposite to you. I’ve talked to my wife about it and she says she wouldn’t know anything as I dont change etc. it’s just hard to talk about as i feel it’s embarrassing and not me. -

Thanks for your reply. Yes agreed, I never want anything to do with the thoughts. It’s totally against my ‘logical’ thinking. I don’t understand why I get the thoughts but it’s almost like it’s trying to convince me it’s the right way to go even though I know it’s not.. -
When you’re struggling with intrusive sexual thoughts, how to lower your anxiety? Heart constantly racing and stomach churning. Making me sweat all the time

Anyone else struggle with HOCD?
Tough at times replied to Tough at times's topic in Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
It’s good to know I’m not alone… It’s so weird. When having a good day I laugh about it and I’ll be like WTF. But bad days are filled with anxiety and hard to get it out. -

Anyone else struggle with HOCD?

Hi All, It seems to hit me in phases, I can go 6-9 months without any intrusive thoughts but then when it hits it’s crippling. The thoughts are completely opposite to my real thoughts and daily life but it’s so hard to shake them off when I’m having a bad spell. The thoughts are worrying about turning gay, I’ve never been interested in been with a man. Always had girls / women and married. I just wish I could shake them off and they never return. When they are on I feel like I don’t want to see another man or I might (in my head) like them. It’s so so weird.. Does anyone else suffer? I see a few on other sites from USA etc but not much mentioned for the UK. Any response appreciated.
