  1. Thanks very much Dave and do take care. Bye for now catherine
  2. Night Shaun and as Frasier would say...wishing you good mental health ?
  3. Thanks Dave, i’m just trying to vary my routine a little each day so that I don’t simply develop a new routine which will be difficult to get out of when this is all over!
  4. Dead right Shaun and knowing you, you will make inroads yourself. You know the drill!
  5. I think it’s setting up in Liverpool first Dave then Sefton. Not sure if it will be delayed by the current crisis but originally it was due to start this month.
  6. I know, it’s like something always has to fill the vacancy if one aspect of the OCD wanes a bit. But remember, same treatment principles apply whatever the prevailing problem.
  7. Incidentally, talking of therapy, Mersey Care is developing a new therapy service for people who fall in the gap between IAPT and secondary care...could capture quite a few folk with moderate OCD for whom IAPT is insufficient.
  8. Shaun, what would be at the top / bottom of your hierarchy if you did start therapy?
  9. I thought that and then I wondered if we would just have a lot of people claiming to know what it’s like to have OCD ?
  10. I agree Shaun and there’s a whole world of difference between people who are doing their cleaning now and those of us who experience excruciating anxiety in normal times if we don’t clean
  11. I think it’s really difficult not to be excessively cautious about cleaning at the moment as we’re all being encouraged to do so!
  12. Yes Talk Liverpool still taking referrals and offering phone, on line and Skype support. https://www.talkliverpool.nhs.uk
  13. Anaocd i think you are right and the shortage of meaningful activities can allow the mind to race. OCD just loves to hit you when you’re at your most vulnerable!
  14. Great thinking Shaun. If switchboard is a problem they take online referrals too. in fact I’ll just take a look at their website now and see what the situation is...
  15. Great that you are not seeking too much reassurance Hippo, and don’t be too harsh on yourself when you do. Sometimes it’s reasonable to seek reassurance even ‘regular’ people do. I think it’s when it becomes excessive and constant it becomes a problem.
  16. I think it’s always difficult to gauge the right time for therapy. Do you go when things are difficult (when you probably should go) or when things have settled when it might not be as beneficial?
  17. I think it’s always difficult to gauge the right time for therapy. Do you go when things are difficult (when you probably should go) or when things have settled when it might not be as beneficial?
  18. Thanks Hippo i’m struggling a bit with my change of routine, any variation is difficult for me to manage. However, I guess it’s an opportunity to try and challenge some of those routines and take me out of my comfort zone.
  19. It might just be some booster sessions you need Shaun, they can be invaluable just to get you on the right track again.
  20. Shaun I think phone consultations are taking place instead of face to face.
