Guest marky1982
I just thought I'd share this I found this on the Manchester University website about a trail involving the horse-tranquiliser Ketamine (of all things) in a successful trial of depression, it also seemed to quell some of the symptoms of anxiety, http://www.manchester.ac.uk/aboutus/news/display/?id=3538 Link to comment

Guest marky1982
No problem! Yes I've had a good weekend thanks, hope you have too. Back to the research - it's interesting to see what the future may hold for the treatment for depression, especially as Ketamine is sometimes taken by people as a recreational drug and wouldn't be a substance normally associated with good mental health. It'll be intriguing to see what benefits they can draw from the trails. Link to comment
Guest Shar
I understand how something with a sedative effect can be used to treat anxiety... but depression? Very interesting... Best not try it at home just yet, though! Link to comment
