hi its dreamer

sorry ive havent been on the forum for a while ive been on an intensive therapy course. hope eveyone is well though.

well ive definetley had an interesting week. while away one of my sisters friends contacted me. she told me she knew about my ocd and wanted to meet up. to cut a long story short it turned out she had the same ocd has me. she too had been sexually abused as a child and had suffered paedophilia fears all her life. heres the twist. she confessed to me that for the past 5 years she has been working on porn films and has an escort. she told me she loves her job and that it has nothing to do with her past, which i belive her, but she cant work right now because her ocd has got so bad. in fact it has got so bad she has started to take drugs to cover her ocd. she really is in a bad stae.

i told her to get help but she tells me she is too scared to go to the docters or support groups because she is afraid they wont take her ocd or abuse seriuously because of her occupation she qoutes, 'how can somone so into sex be so afraid of it'. i tried to tell her that her fears of child abuse have nothing to do with her real fantasies because they are what disgust her but she doesnt understand that. to be honest neither do i because i fear similar things which is why im writing on the forum. can a sexual person have these fears? she has now got me really worried because i too am a sexual person but have had these fears. i know they must be linked to our sexual abuse but i cant give her advice because she makes me paranoid. what should i do? i told her to write on here but she says she is too afraid of people judging her for what she does.

im sorry for my choice of tilte. i know it sounds like its from Trisha but i dont know how eles to describe this problem.

thanks dreamer x.

Yes, a sexual person can have sexual obsessions. If the thought is intrusive, repetitive, and distressing, then it is OCD. Her job does not mean she can't have an obsession related to sex. A husband loves his wife, but if he has OCD, he might have the obsession that he has or will do something to harm her. A religious person loves God, but might have obsessive thoughts while praying. A doctor or a support group won't judge her for what she does. That goes against the purpose of the medical profession and support groups. She will be treated as a patient with a legitimate medical condition. The OCD is keeping her from living her life the way she wishes. The drugs will only make it worse. She really should consider seeking treatment
