What shall I do?

I have a friend who has got OCD. I have told her to go to the doctors to get a referral for the psychologists just like I did, but she doesn't want to go! her mum had OCD and her dad split up with her mum,so I think she doesn't want to feel a burden on her dad! SHe has told a teacher who is a good friend of mine and she said the same thing! I have even said that I will go with her to the doctors and hep as much as I can. Tell me what to do? because I know I can't make her but it would help her so much! Thank you Nat xxx

Dear Nat,

You are doing all you can do; you are being a good, caring friend. You have given her good advice, but she will have to decide whether to see her GP for a referral.

Have you told her about this site? Perhaps it would help her if she read books on OCD and joined the bulletin board.

But the most important thing is that she has your friendship and understanding.
