gingerbreadgirl
I'm really sorry to bump the thread, I know that we shouldn't really do that, but I feel absolutely desperate right now and I know there are a lot of really knowledgeable people on here who might be able to share some insight x Link to comment
Guest Adam Samson
I know it's just a symptom of anxiety. I guess what I'm worried about is that the feeling is never going to go away. Gingerbreadgirl, you know that if it's only a symptom of anxiety, then the tight feeling in your throat will go away if you handle the anxiety correctly. When my throat gets physically tense, I can relax it by wrapping a hot towel or flannel around it. Have you got one of those wheat bags you can heat up in the microwave? The warmth is pleasant and soothing and quickly relieves the tension in my throat so that I can swallow normally again without scraping my tongue on my teeth. If you try that and if it takes away the lump in your throat, then you have broken the vicious circle. Repeat ad infinitum. Good luck! Edited September 1, 2014 by Adam Samson Link to comment
gingerbreadgirl
Thanks Adam, that is a good idea - I have a microwavable bunny so will give that a go! Thank you x Link to comment
PolarBear
Just put one foot in front if the other. Don't you dare Google symptoms. Slow down. Take breaths. Focus on other things. Move your thoughts over to something else. You're tough. You can do this. Link to comment
