Guest Daydream95
Basically I suffer from health anxiety and my latest obsession is with my hearing. I feel like I am not hearing things as well as I used to. I am constantly seeking reassurance from my family about it. It feels like my ears are blocked and that there is something inside of them. I was wondering if anybody knows if anxiety can alter your body like that. Can it effect my eyesight and my hearing. Its like whenever I get an obsession about a certain part of my body that parts becomes infected. Like my eyesight will become blurry and my head will feel tight like I have a brain tumor. Guest Chickpea
This happens to me too. We both have OCD, so that's the most likely reason. Link to comment
Guest stuckinmyhead
Yes daydream when your mind focuses solely on what your worrying about you will start to notice things you otherwise wouldn't be bothered about. Could be as common as needing your ears syringed. Which I have to have done twice a year. I used to obsess about being pregnant all the time. Your mind is great at playing tricks on you even more so when you have ocd. Like false memories etc. keep going you'll be just fine x Link to comment
PolarBear
Work on that reassurance seeking. And stop Googling if you're doing it. Those are compulsions and will only draw attention to your perceived problem. Link to comment
Ania
Hi daydream, as a health ocd sufferer I know what you're talking about. In fact I had that exact obsession years ago. I'm a musician so you can imagine how scared I was. It turned out I had too much ear wax. My doctor just cleaned my ears and I was ok. I also had an obsession about being bald. So my hair was falling like hell. Then one day I just didn't care anymore. Result: my hair stopped falling and it even became stronger... hope I helped Link to comment
