pureosufferer
I'm a pure-o sufferer born and bred in the UK but currently living and working in Asia. After several pure-o-free years I've been spiking very badly recently due to several stressful situations happening at once and I have no idea what to do. Returning to the UK for treatment isn't really plausible due to my work and visa situation but there is basically zero knowledge of ocd, especially pure-o, among medical professionals in this country and this makes accessing treatment nearly impossible. Do any readers know of any CBT available online through the NHS? Link to comment
Ashley
To the best of my knowledge overseas residents can not use NHS services. Just to be clear when seeking for a specialist you don't need one that has knowledge of Pure O, you only need one that fully understands OCD. Remember, Pure O is not a medical term and there are still compulsions. Self-help is better than nothing I guess until you can find access to a therapist, there are various books and this online website may be of help too - http://ocdchallenge.com/ Therapy wise your only other option is to pay privately with UK or US based therapists and access treatment via Skype.
