taurean
In an interview in The Mail on Sunday today, Captain Darren Clarke of the European Ryder Cup team was described by Lee Westwood as "borderline OCD". Apparently he is very meticulous and regimented about his preparations. I don't see this as a problem statement as it wasn't claiming he has OCD, but maybe not too far off that possibility. PolarBear
Borderline OCD would be someone who scored quite low on the YBOCS. It would be a case where there are rituals present but they don't interfere with life very much. Now I've heard stories about professional athletes having some very intricate rituals before they play. They can be very detailed and time consuming. It looks on the surface like OCD. But what is missing, I am assuming, is obsessions. You can't have OCD without obsessions. Without obsessions it's just a case of having very involved rituals but it's not OCD, borderline or not.
